Propeller Nozzles

Since April 1990 Beacon has been designing and marketing propeller nozzles both for straight shaft propulsion and for azimuth propulsion units. Steerable nozzles are also in the program. Every nozzle is designed with latest knowledge and manufactured utilizing modern machines - also large diameter nozzles are available.

The nozzles are designed according to the requirements of the customer and the Classification Society.

The connection area of the nozzle to the vessel's hull is designed by Beacon when the drawings of the vessel's hull are available. The connection area can also be designed and manufactured as a rather large block in accordance to Class requirements. FEM-analysis is available, if needed.

Rudders

Rudders are also in the design and delivery program of Beacon. The connection area of the rudder to the vessel's hull is designed by Beacon when the drawings of the vessel's hull are available. The connection area can also be designed and manufactured as a rather large block in accordance to Class requirements. FEM-analysis is available, if needed.

Manufacturing and Classification

The nozzles and rudders are manufactured at Hollming Works. Over 2000 nozzles have been delivered, the largest having an outside diameter of 5.5 meters. The nozzles can be designed in ice classes, if required.

The nozzles and rudders comply with the requirements of the classification societies, e.g. LRS, DNV, GL, BV, ABS, RINA, Russian Register of Shipping and China Class Society (including certificates).
