projects, using the latest design tools and computer programs. Experts
in hydrodynamics, ship propulsion and ship theory, structural strength
including finite elements techniques, hydraulics etc. are available.
Beacon Finland also has a wide network of skilled freelance designers
and partner companies, that may be utilized.
Other products which Beacon Finland has been designing are fixed propeller nozzles, steerable propeller nozzles as well as conventional rudders.
Since 1990 Beacon
Finland has developed an own product: the
JAK®-ATB
Coupling System for pusher-barge assemblies. ATB means an
articulated tug-barge system where a tug is engaged to barge with two
couplers. These allow tug and barge to pivot in vertical direction
independently and so reducing forces in joint. Today the
JAK®-ATB
Coupling System is in production in three
sizes and well taken by ship owners.
